The Benefits Of Qi Gong
Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese art that through practice helps refine the way our body works, and in turn our awareness our perception and our sensitivity. Think of it as a pyramid. At the base layer the Qi Gong movements draw oxygen deeper into the body, allowing more blood to be pumped into the organs. As the blood, oxygen and energy shifts around the body any stagnation in the form of aches, tension or emotions it meets along the way are transformed. Allowing for the body’s organs to work that little bit better and for the bodies defense to work more efficiently, resulting in less illness. Not only does this strengthen your internal organs and internal energy field, it builds and strengths your Qi Field, your external energy field which again improves resistance to disease.
In essence through the practice we are re-organising our system, and this re-organization leads to subtle shifts in awareness and perception and we become more aligned within ourselves. We are refining the way our body functions and in turn our relationship with every aspect of ourselves and the life we lead.
According to Chinese Medical Theory, a healthy person has a full and flowing supply of Qi. Stress, worry, poor health habits all dissipate the Qi leaving us more susceptible to physical and mental tension and thus illness.
‘Health and well being can be achieved only by remaining centered against the squandering of energy, promoting the constant flow of Qi and Blood, maintaining a harmonious balance of Yin and Yang, adapting to the seasonal and macro-cosmic influences and nousihing oneself preventatively. This is the way to a long and happy life’ Neijing
